HeliCoil Twinserts from Emhart Technologies restore damaged holes to the original thread size. As the name implies, a HeliCoil Twinsert consists of two HeliCoil inserts - a HeliCoil Twinsert Outer Insert, and an Inner Insert. The Outer HeliCoil Twinsert Insert is always free running while the Inner HeliCoil Twinsert Insert can be either free running or screw-locking.

HeliCoil Twinserts are available in numerous nominal thread sizes.

HeliCoil Twinsert Kit Contents

Each HeliCoil Twinsert Kit comes with a HeliCoil Twinsert Bottoming Tap, a Twinsert Outer Insert installation tool, a quantity of HeliCoil Twinsert Outer Inserts, and a tang break off tool for the Outer Insert.

About Helicoil Twinserts

Twinserts are two Helicoil wire inserts, one fitted inside the other. An Outer Helicoil insert is installed into an oversized tapped hole (which is larger than that of a usual wire thread insert tapped hole) which then, an Inner Helicoil insert is fitted inside to give a standard female thread. The Outer insert is installed into the Twin sert tapped hole and has the same nominal length as the original thread.

The outer insert is always free running while the inner insert can be free running or screw locking. Twin serts are used for the repair and recovery of tapped holes that are stripped, have widespread cracks, or are off-centre.

Helicoil Free Running

• The standard Helicoil helically wound insert with precision-formed rounded coils and a diamond shaped cross-section

Helicoil Screw-Lock

• Helicoil Screw Lock wire inserts have all the characteristics of free running inserts but in addition, one or more coils in the middle of the screwlock insert are polygon shaped. These coils serve as a locking device by gripping the threads of the installed screw, effectively preventing the screw from loosening under vibration or impact.
